Dutton Ditch Pipeline

Ready for Water

The Dutton Ditch Pipeline and intake structure (pictured below), was completed in the fall of 2006 and is the primary source through which gravity flow water is delivered to Hatcher and Stevens Lakes. Since it was put into use in November 2006, it has enhanced the District's raw water delivery system and assisted in the filling of the downstream reservoirs. The second phase of this project is the expansion of Stevens Reservoir . Fourmile Creek diversion

The Dutton Ditch Pipeline Project began operating its first full year in 2007. This project, which took over a year to complete, allows the District to divert raw water, when water rights allow, to storage reservoirs at lower elevations. These reservoirs are an important part of the District's Drought Managment Plan.  During the summer months when typically water rights are out of priority and water can't be diverted, these reservoirs will be managed in a way as to maximize storage, minimize evaporative losses, and keep the District more drought resistant.
